What

DOES VOLUNTEERING...

Want to volunteer?

Our primary service is to help people find suitable volunteer positions with community organisations. We interview new volunteers to determine their motivation and the areas they would like to contribute in, and then match them to a suitable position.

We've tried to keep the paperwork down but there are a few things we need to know about you - so check out all the detail and find the application form on the Volunteering page.

Need a volunteer?

Gisborne Volunteer Centre assists with

  • Advice and support to both organisations and volunteers.

  • Help organisations to establish and develop great volunteer opportunities.

  • Provide information and training about volunteering and volunteer management.

  • Recruit and refer interested people to your organisation.

Check the nitty-gritty on how to register your organisation and finding volunteers on the Volunteering page.

2020 Youth Volunteer Awards

The Gisborne Volunteer Centre Youth Volunteer Awards

is an annual event that gives us all the opportunity to recognise and thank our youth for the great work they contribute in our community.
Our aim is to highlight as many youth volunteer efforts that have gone into helping not-for-profit groups achieve their potential as well as all those that have helped at community events.

Why nominate someone?
These awards are an opportunity for our community to recognise the individual achievements of our young people, publicly acknowledging their voluntary effort. All nominees receive a Certificate of Appreciation to mark the occasion of their nomination for the award.

Who can be nominated?
Any young person working as a volunteer in the community or for a non-profit organisation can be nominated. The awards are open to volunteers under the age of 25 working in the Tairawhiti Area.
