The Gisborne Volunteer Centre presents the first Two Minutes of Good Stuff Film Fest this year to shine a light on the amazing work done by community groups in the Tairawhiti community.

First Screening

The films will be shared at a special screening on Thursday, June 20th, starting 5.30PM at the Tairawhiti Museum, as part of series of local events during National Volunteer Week.

Thank you for considering to volunteer your time and skills to highlight 16 wonderful non-profit organisations that are doing important mahi in our community!


Parameters for Film Entry
Length: 2 minutes and change. Your video entry must not exceed 2 minutes 59 seconds.


File Size

The file size and format of your completed video should be suitable for uploading to social media (both mobile and desktop) by the non-profit. No larger than 500 MB. This site has some handy information.


The Goal
Keep in mind that the purpose of you video is not only to celebrate the mission and work of the group with which you are paired, but ultimately to serve as promotional material for the charity or non-profit. We are excited to see some creative films that inspire, educate and celebrate our amazing community.

The First Step

Choosing a Non-Profit

Please send your TOP THREE CHOICES to no later than 18 March 2019. We will do our best to match you with your preferred group.

Take some time to check out the information provided and do further research. Do not hesitate to contact us if you require additional information.


The next step of the process will be for the Gisborne Volunteer Centre to pair you with an organisation. We will do our best to match you with an organisation in your top three choices,. The Centre will contact you no later than 22 March with our final pairing decision. 


Below is Timeline of all steps involved in the process.



  • 18 March 2019 - Send in your TOP THREE organisation choices no later than today.

  • 22 March 2019 - Filming and consultation period begins.

  • 17 May 2019 - Film entries must be turned in by today.

  • 18 May-19 June - Judges will deliberate and decide on prize allocation.

  • Prizes to be announced at the Film Festival Event.

  • 20 June 2019 - Come and celebrate at the Film Festival Event! It is imperative that no videos are shared by either filmmakers or organisations before this date.

Gisborne Volunteer Centre's Role

The team at the Gisborne Volunteer Centre is here to liaise between you and the participating non-profit organisation and to clarify any items that may arise.

Please bear in mind that all of our non-profits are inspiring and doing important mahi! If you haven’t heard a lot about them they may have an even greater need for a promotional film.
